Why are some of my PilotMiles pending?

These miles are awaiting confirmation from our partners. This typically applies to activities like shopping or booking travel arrangements. Verification can take anywhere from a few hours to up to 90 days. Once confirmed, the miles will automatically move to your Redeemable balance.
If the activity is canceled or reversed (for example, a refunded purchase), the pending miles may be removed.

Some bonuses (like the $5 welcome bonus) are awarded as "Pending Earning", which means they’re temporarily locked until you earn a certain number of additional PilotMiles through other eligible activities (e.g. reading articles, shopping).
Once you reach the required goal, the bonus miles will be released and become redeemable. You’ll be able to track your progress directly from the PilotMiles page.
